Last week Alex and Alyssa had head colds, and were/are each getting several teeth. Starting New Year's Eve Alex hadn't been acting like his usual self. He only slept for a few hours Thursday and Friday night (and hardly took any naps during the day). He was a little clingy and fussy so I thought maybe he had an ear ache, but wasn't sure because he didn't seem to be in pain, just a little off (meaning he wasn't climbing Christmas trees or herding the dogs around the house, but still trying to escape out the doggy door and climb on couches and tables). Saturday I took him into the doctor just in case and it turned out that he had two ear infections and his right ear drum had ruptured (I'm pretty sure it happened on the drive up to the Dr because it definitely hadn't been too long since it had happened). It was so sad. He is such a little tough guy. He is always happy, silly, and somewhat crazy, even when he is sick.
Alex is proof that real men can play with trucks and dolls at the same time and still be cool.

Alyssa hugs the dolls and carries them all over the house patting their backs, putting them in strollers, and talking to them. Alex mostly just holds the corner of the blanket and shakes until the dolls falls out, and brings it back to get re wrapped but he will occasionally give them hugs (we have a doll that crawls and they both try and "drive" it all over the house, apparently she isn't fast enough for them on her own).

Love the picture. Poor little guy! Brooke has been teething and has an ear infection too! No fun! But I cant imagine the pain of a ruptured ear drum! I hope he is back to his crazy self soon!
